Band Director/Instrumental Music Teacher Grades 5-12: The Band Director/Instrumental Music Teacher will be responsible for the district’s instrumental music program from beginning band through high school. Intervention Specialist Grades 6-12: The Intervention Specialist will be responsible for providing instruction for special education students in compliance with federal law and Ohio rules for educating handicapped pupils. Applicant must have an Ohio Intervention Specialist License. Substitute Teaching and Support Staff Opportunities:
Thank you for your interest in working in the Toronto City School District. The school district has multiple substitute opportunities available on a daily basis for teachers, instructional aides, and bus drivers. We are always recruiting potential candidates for these substitute positions. All candidates must be properly licensed and have a valid Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and/or FBI criminal background check. Substitute Opportunities for Civil Service Positions:
The Toronto City School District’s custodian, secretary, and cook positions are under the Toronto Civil Service Commission. In order to substitute in these positions, a candidate must pass the civil service exam for the job. The Civil Service test is offered by the Toronto Civil Service Commission in June of each year. Contact the City of Toronto at 740-537-3743 for more information. Consideration for full or part time employment is based on a candidate’s ranking on the civil service list for the position. Bus drivers and instructional aides must be properly licensed by the state of Ohio to be eligible for employment. In addition, all candidates must have a valid Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) and/or FBI criminal background check.
