TORONTO JR.-SR. HIGH SCHOOL FINE ARTS DEPARTMENT

The Toronto Jr.-Sr. High School has a proud tradition of outstanding fine arts programs including instrumental music, vocal music, and performing arts. The pride of Toronto, the Red Knight Marching Band, is a half-time favorite at Riverside Stadium. The band, under the direction of Mr. Mike McCarthy, performs a wide range of songs from modern pop tunes, classic rock songs, and traditional marching charts.  The band also performs a variety concert shows throughout the school year. The vocal music program is led by Ms. Sophia Abukamail.   The choirs perform winter and spring concerts and have given performances at area nursing homes and other local events. The performing arts program, under the direction of Rich Coburn, presents the Murder-Mystery dinner theater and the annual spring musical. Recent performances have included Legally Blonde, Grease, and Beauty and the Beast.
